Who Is God?
His nature, character, and love (Acts 17:24–28)
The Bible reveals God as the Creator of all things. He is eternal, all‑powerful, all‑knowing, and ever‑present.
Scripture teaches that:
- God created the world and everything in it (Genesis 1:1)
- He gives life and breath to all (Acts 17:25)
- He is holy and righteous (Isaiah 6:3)
- He is merciful and gracious (Exodus 34:6)
- He desires all people to seek Him (Acts 17:27)
God is not distant or unknowable. He invites every person into a relationship with Him through His Word and through His Son.
Who Is Jesus?
His identity as the Son of God (John 20:30–31)
Jesus Christ is the central figure of the Bible and the foundation of the Christian faith.
The Scriptures reveal:
- He is the Son of God (Matthew 3:17)
- He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10)
- He lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:22)
- He performed miracles to confirm His identity (John 5:36)
- He died for our sins (Romans 5:8)
- He rose from the dead (Matthew 28:6)
- He now reigns at the right hand of God (Acts 2:33)
To know Jesus is to know the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
What Is the Bible?
God’s inspired Word (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
The Bible is not a human book. It is the inspired Word of God, given to reveal His will for humanity.
The Bible:
- Is God‑breathed (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Is perfect and trustworthy (Psalm 19:7)
- Provides everything needed for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3)
- Guides us into truth (John 17:17)
- Equips us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17)
The Bible is the foundation for faith, doctrine, worship, and Christian living.
What Is Sin?
Understanding our need for salvation (Romans 3:23)
Sin is disobedience to God’s will. It separates us from God and brings spiritual death (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23).
The Bible teaches that:
- All have sinned (Romans 3:23)
- Sin enslaves (John 8:34)
- Sin brings guilt and condemnation (James 1:15)
- We cannot save ourselves (Ephesians 2:8–9)
Understanding sin helps us understand our need for the Savior. The gospel is God’s answer to the problem of sin.
What Is the Gospel?
The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1–4)
The gospel is the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ.
Paul summarizes the gospel as:
- Christ died for our sins
- He was buried
- He was raised on the third day
Through the gospel:
- We receive forgiveness (Ephesians 1:7)
- We are reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:18–19)
- We gain hope of eternal life (1 Peter 1:3)
The gospel is God’s power to save all who believe (Romans 1:16).
